The lawyers for the family of UGA football player Devin Willcock announced on Thursday that they would not be pursuing legal action after Willcock died in a car crash last weekend despite announcing that they planned to initially, according to WSB-TV.
Attorneys with Go Big Injury Law made the announcement and said that plans to hold a news conference “discussing the legal actions that are being taken on behalf of the Willock family” were cancelled.
Additionally, Devin’s father, Dave Willock, said that he was not aware of any lawsuit or any plans for a new conference adding that the university was “compensating us 100%”, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Willock was a passenger in a car driven by University of Georgia staffer Chandler LeCroy when LeCroy lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
Both Willcock and LeCroy were killed in the crash. Investigators confirmed that the crash was partly caused by excessive speed.
